North Texas Amateur Water Blind

Pretty nifty little blind

Maybe 200 yards long, but lots of action. Wind blew from right to left.

The entry to the water involves some rolling terrain.
Dogs are out of sight after they drop over the edge.

Some dogs went hard right in the water and then popped up way off line.
Some dogs cut hard left towards the old mark (the tree on the left is where the left hand bird fell on the land marks)
Most dogs went straight.

Once in the water, the dogs faded to the old fall.
Some got out early and ran behind the tree and came up on the saddle between the two ponds
The point was very narrow. Early on, dogs got on and off without much problem. A few brave souls let their dogs rip over the point without a whistle.
As scent and wind built up, it got harder. Some handlers began double tapping the whistle on the point.

Once off the point, the dogs swam
Then you got to the saddle.
Very narrow area to work with.
Blind was on top of dike which was flat.
Dogs tended to drop off - out of sight - on either side
They did not want to stay on the top of the dike
So you had to be very sharp on your whistle

Very fun blind
